Ecovillage : « a human scale, full-featured settlement, in which human activities are harmlessly integrated into the natural world, in a way that is supportive of healthy human development and can be successfully continued into the indefinite future” (Robert Gilman). Begun in late 2023, Ecovillages is a body of photographic work that explores the transformational nature of the global ecovillage movement as a response to the Anthropocene. An ecovillage is an intentional community, based on a shared mission, vision and values and not necessarily on kinship or ethnic origin. Each of these stay in an ecovillage becomes an ethnographic and artistic case study, allowing me to experiment with an alternative way of life and community social organisation. Echoing these light-hearted ways of inhabiting the world, I am going there in my sailboat.
Écovillage : “lieu de vie à échelle humaine, dans lequel les activités humaines sont intégrées de manière inoffensive dans leur environnement, soutenant un développement humain sain, qui peut être poursuivi avec succès dans un avenir indéfini” (Robert Gilman). Amorcé fin 2023, Écovillages est un ensemble de travaux photographiques qui explorent le caractère transformationnel du mouvement mondial des écovillages, pour faire face à l’Anthropocène. Un écovillage est une communauté intentionnelle, c’est à dire basée sur une mission, une vision et des valeurs partagées et non nécessairement sur des relations de parenté ou des origines ethniques. Chacun de ces séjours en écovillage devient un cas d’étude ethnographique et artistique, me permettant l’expérimentation d’un mode de vie alternatif et d’organisation sociale communautaire. En écho à ces manières légères d’habiter le monde, je m’y rends avec mon voilier.
